Iluminar (or illuminate) is a study of the way lighting impacts subjects within a dark environment. It also documents the artistic and youthful energy of Los Angeles creatives and the way they express their individuality. A spontaneous DJ set from sunset into dusk, the debut of a new hairstyle, and an idiosyncratic combination of rings, acrylic nails, and tattoos are highlighted.
The photographs were captured with the lens of a disposable camera that was 3D printed and then attached to a mirrorless camera, blending the hazy, soft texture of film with the sharpness of digital photography.
